नामगोत्रमुदाहृत्य प्रेताय तदनन्तरम् ॥ शीघ्रमावाहयेद्भूमे दर्भपात्रे च भूतले ॥
nāma-gotram udāhṛtya pretāya tad-anantaram || śīghram āvāhayet bhūme darbha-pātre ca bhūtale ||
Nachdem man Namen und Gotra (Geschlechtslinie) ausgesprochen hat, soll man unmittelbar danach (den Preta) rasch auf den Boden herabrufen — in ein Gefäß aus Darbha-Gras, das auf der Erde steht.
