Brahmavidya Upanishad 14: Verse 14

वायुः प्राणस्तथाकाशस्त्रिविधो जीवसंज्ञकः । स जीवः प्राण इत्युक्तो वालाग्रशतकल्पितः ॥१४॥

वायुः । प्राणः । तथा । आकाशः । त्रि-विदः । जीव-संज्ञकः । सः । जीवः । प्राणः । इति । उक्तः । वल-अग्र-शत-कल्पितः ।

vāyuḥ prāṇas tathākāśas trividho jīvasaṃjñakaḥ | sa jīvaḥ prāṇa ity ukto valāgraśatakalpitaḥ ||14||

Luft, Prāṇa und Raum — diese Dreiheit wird als Jīva bezeichnet. Dieser Jīva heißt Prāṇa, gedacht als (so fein wie) ein Hundertstel der Haarspitze.

Air, prāṇa, and space—this triad is designated as the jīva. That jīva is said to be prāṇa, conceived as (subtle as) one-hundredth of the tip of a hair.
