यत्किं चेदं वरुण दैव्ये जनेऽभिद्रोहं मनुष्याश्चरामसि । अचित्ती यत्तव धर्मा युयोपिम मा नस्तस्मादेनसो देव रीरिषः ॥

Transliteration

yát kiṃ cedáṃ varuṇa daívyé jáne ’bhí-drohaṃ manuṣyā́ś cárāmasi | ácittī yát táva dhármā yuyópim mā́ nas tásmād énaso deva rīriṣaḥ ||

Translation

Was immer hier, o Varuṇa, im göttlichen Geschlecht an feindlichem Verrat wir Menschen auch begehen mögen — wenn wir aus Unwissen dein Gesetz (dharma) verletzt haben: verletze uns nicht, o Gott, durch jene Schuld; löse sie und nimm sie von uns hinweg.
