प्र द्यावा यज्ञैः पृथिवी नमोभिः सबाध ईळे बृहती यजत्रे । ते चिद्धि पूर्वे कवयो गृणन्तः पुरो मही दधिरे देवपुत्रे ॥

Transliteration

prá dyā́vā yajñáiḥ pṛthivī́ námobhiḥ sabā́dha īḷe bṛhatī́ yájatre | té cíd dhi pū́rve kaváyo gṛṇántaḥ puró mahī́ dadhire deváputre ||

Translation

Den Himmel mit Opfern, die Erde mit Verneigungen — ungetrennt, gemeinsam — rufe ich an: die beiden Weiten, opferwürdig. Denn schon die früheren Kavi, singend, stellten sie an die Spitze, die großen, göttergeborenen.
