आ नो विश्वाभिरूतिभिः सजोषा ब्रह्म जुषाणो हर्यश्व याहि । वरीवृजत्स्थविरेभिः सुशिप्रास्मे दधद्वृषणं शुष्ममिन्द्र ॥
ā no viśvā́bhir ūtíbhiḥ sa-jóṣā bráhma juṣāṇó hary-aśva yāhi | varīvṛ́jat sthavirébhiḥ su-śiprā́sme dádhad vṛ́ṣaṇaṃ śúṣmam indra ||
Indra praise and invitation within Soma rite; strengthening formula for the sacrificer’s inner ‘wide space’
Rita through brahman (effective word), inner liberation (wide space vs constriction), shakti/force establishment (śuṣma in asme)
Sajoṣāḥ (harmonious accord) is ṛta in the psychological nature—right relation among powers.
Brahman enjoyed by Indra implies truth-vibration as the basis for effective power.
Widening of the worlds and installation of force—creation as expansion plus empowered order.
Aurobindonian: widening (vāstu) and descent of force into the instrument; mantra as operative power.
Wide space = vast consciousness; horses = dynamic energies; bull-force = abundant strength; fair-lipped = luminous speech-force.
Widen the inner space and install steady, purified power guided by truth-speech.
Anāhata (widening, openness) with Maṇipūra (installed force)
Box breathing 4-4-4-4 while feeling ‘varīvṛjat’ as expansion on each inhale; on exhale, silently affirm ‘dadhad… śuṣmam’ as settling strength
Vast, harmonized, empowered—strength without strain
Chant 1 time slowly emphasizing widening; then 8 times steadily. After chanting, sit with attention in the chest (space) and belly (force), letting strength arise as calm pressure rather than agitation.
Maintain strong udatta on ‘ā no’, ‘viśvābhir ūtibhiḥ’, and ‘indra’; let ‘varīvṛjat’ be clearly articulated with a widening breath.
Slightly increase volume on ‘varīvṛjat’ (widening) and then firm, grounded tone on ‘dadhad… śuṣmam’.
viśvābhir: śv cluster clear; long ā in ābhir, ūtibhiḥ: long ū; aspirate bh, haryaśva: split har-yaś-va; palatal ś, śuṣmam: retroflex ṣ; keep short a
Broad and resonant; feel ‘space’ in the tone, then ‘weight’ in the final petition
