Sukta 5.34
आ यः सोमेन जठरमपिप्रतामन्दत मघवा मध्वो अन्धसः । यदीं मृगाय हन्तवे महावधः सहस्रभृष्टिमुशना वधं यमत् ॥
ā́ yaḥ sómena jaṭháram apípratām ámandata maghávā́ mádhvo ándhasaḥ | yadī́ṃ mṛgā́ya hántave mahā́vadhaḥ sahásrabhṛṣṭim uśánā́ vadháṃ yámat ||
Er, der mit Soma den Bauch füllte und sich erfreute — der Freigebige — am honigsüßen Trank: als er das widerstrebende „Wildtier“ mit der tausendschneidigen Waffe erschlagen wollte, da setzte der Seher Uśanas ihm jene Tötungskraft fest.
