Sukta 3.1
आ देवानामभवः केतुरग्ने मन्द्रो विश्वानि काव्यानि विद्वान् । प्रति मर्ताँ अवासयो दमूना अनु देवान्रथिरो यासि साधन् ॥
ā devānām abhavaḥ ketúr agne mandró viśvā́ni kā́vyāni vidvā́n | práti martā́m̐ avāsayo damūnā́ ánu devā́n rathiró yāsi sā́dhan ||
Du bist zum Zeichen der Götter geworden, o Agni, zur Signalflamme – freudvoll, alle dichterischen Eingebungen kundig. Du richtest die Sterblichen zur göttlichen Wohnstatt hin, o Damūnā; und als sicherer Wagenlenker fährst du den Göttern nach und vollbringst das Werk.
