ह्वयाम्यग्निं प्रथमं स्वस्तये ह्वयामि मित्रावरुणाविहावसे । ह्वयामि रात्रीं जगतो निवेशनीं ह्वयामि देवं सवितारमूतये ॥
hvayā́my agníṁ prathamáṁ svastáye hvayā́mi mitrā́varuṇāv ihā́vase | hvayā́mi rā́trīṁ jágato nivéśanīṁ hvayā́mi deváṁ savitā́ram ūtáye ||
Ich rufe Agni zuerst an zum heilsamen Wohlergehen; ich rufe Mitra und Varuṇa hier an zum schützenden Beistand. Ich rufe die Nacht an, die Einsetzerin und Ansiedlerin der bewegten Welt; ich rufe den Gott Savitṛ an zur Förderung und Hut.
