इयत्तिका शकुन्तिका सका जघास ते विषम् । सो चिन्नु न मराति नो वयं मरामारे अस्य योजनं हरिष्ठा मधु त्वा मधुला चकार ॥

Transliteration

iyattikā́ śakuntikā́ sakā́ jaghā́sa te víṣam | só cit nú ná marāti nó vayáṃ marāma āré asyá yójanam hariṣṭhā́ mádhu tvā madhulā́ cakāra ||

Translation

Selbst wenn diese kleinen Vogelwesen dein Gift gemeinsam verschlungen haben—doch sterben sie nicht, auch wir sterben nicht; fern sei uns die Verbindung damit. O du, im goldenen Licht Gefestigter: Süße macht dich süß; die Wonne-Kraft wandelt die Folge des Giftes.
