चित्रकूटमार्गवर्णनम् · Bharata’s Army Reaches Chitrakuta and Searches for Rama
स यात्वा दूरमध्वानं सुपरिश्रान्तवाहनः ।
उवाच भरत श्श्रीमान् वसिष्ठं मन्त्रिणां वरम् ॥६॥
sa yātvā dūram adhvānaṃ supariśrāntavāhanaḥ |
uvāca bharataḥ śrīmān vasiṣṭhaṃ mantriṇāṃ varam ||6||
Nachdem er einen langen Weg zurückgelegt hatte und die Zugtiere sehr ermattet waren, sprach der ruhmreiche Bharata zu Vasiṣṭha, dem Vornehmsten unter den Ratgebern.
With his draught animals extremely wearied by covering a great distance, the majestic Bharata said to Vasistha, the best of counsellors:
Dharma includes respect for wise guidance: Bharata turns to Vasiṣṭha, showing that righteous leadership is counsel-guided rather than ego-driven.
After a long journey, Bharata initiates a conversation with Vasiṣṭha as the party nears the region they seek.
