सविता तां स॑वितः स॒त्यस॑वां सुचि॒त्रामाहं वृ॑णे सुम॒तिं वि॒श्ववा॑राम्। याम॑स्य॒ कण्वो॒ अदु॑ह॒न् प्रपी॑नां स॒हस्र॑धारां महि॒षो भगा॑य

savítā tā́ṃ savitaḥ satyásavāṃ sucitrā́m āháṃ vṛ́ṇe sumatíṃ viśvávārām | yā́m asyá káṇvo áduhan prápīnām sahásradhārāṃ mahíṣo bhágāya

O Savitar, that fair boon—of true impulsion, of goodly form—do I elect: the good favour, all-choice. Which boon of his Kanva milked forth, rich and full, thousand-streamed, as a strong bull for Bhaga’s portion.

O Savitar, jene schöne Gabe — von wahrer Anregung, von herrlicher Gestalt — wähle ich: die gute Gunst, allbegehrte. Jene Gabe hat Kanva von ihm gemolken, reich und voll, tausendströmg, wie ein mächtiger Stier für Bhagas Anteil.
