Sukta 17
यथे॒यं पृ॑थि॒वी म॒ही दा॒धार॒ विष्ठि॑तं॒ जग॑त्। ए॒वा ते॑ ध्रियतां॒ गर्भो॒ अनु॒ सूतुं॒ सवि॑तवे
yathéyáṃ pṛthivī́ mahī́ dādhārá víṣṭhitaṃ jágat | evā́ te dhriyatā́ṃ gárbho ánu sūtúṃ savítave ||
As this great Earth hath borne the world set firm, so may thy embryo be held fast, in due course unto the bringing-forth, for Savitar’s quickening.
Wie diese große Erde die fest gegründete Welt getragen hat, so möge dein Embryo fest gehalten werden, bis zur rechten Zeit, bis zur Geburt, zur belebenden Wirkung Savitars.
