Sukta 18
ती॒क्ष्णेष॑वो ब्राह्म॒णा हे॑ति॒मन्तो॒ यामस्य॑न्ति शर॒व्यां॒३ न सा मृषा॑ । अ॒नु॒हाय॒ तप॑सा म॒न्युना॑ चो॒त दू॒रादव॑ भिन्दन्त्येनम्
tīkṣṇéṣavo brāhmaṇā́ hétimanto yā́masyanti śarávyāṁ ná sā́ mṛ́ṣā | anuhā́ya tápasā́ mányunā ca utá dūrā́d áva bhindanty enam ||
Sharp-arrowed are the Brahmans, weapon-bearing: they speed the arrow-flight; it is not vain. Pursuing him with ardour and with wrath, yea even from afar they cleave him down.
Scharfpfeilig sind die Brahmanen, waffentragend: sie lassen den Pfeilflug schnellen; er ist nicht vergeblich. Ihn verfolgend mit Tapas und mit Zorn, ja selbst aus der Ferne, spalten sie ihn und strecken ihn nieder.
