Sukta 7
क॒र॒म्भं कृ॒त्वा ति॒र्यंऽपीबस्पा॒कमु॑दार॒थिम्। क्षु॒धा किल॑ त्वा दुष्टनो जक्षि॒वान्त्स न रू॑रुपः
karambháṃ kṛtvā tiryáṅ ’pība spākám udārathím | kṣudhā́ kíla tvā duṣṭano jakṣivā́nt sá ná rūrupaḥ
Having made the karambha, drink it sideways—our easing draught: for hunger verily hath driven thee, O ill-bodied one, that hast been devouring; so do thou not work deformity.
Nachdem du Karambha bereitet hast, trink ihn seitwärts — unseren lindernden Trank. Denn Hunger, wahrlich, hat dich getrieben, du Missgestalteter, der du gefressen hast; so wirke keine Verunstaltung.
Rishi: Atharvanic/Angirasa tradition (hymn-level attribution varies)
Devata: Personified disease/hostile agent constrained by mantra; karambha as the operative medium
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable; requires metrical confirmation)
Primary: shanta
Secondary: raudra
