अग्निं देवासो मानुषीषु विक्षु प्रियं धुः क्षेष्यन्तो न मित्रम् । स दीदयदुशतीरूर्म्या आ दक्षाय्यो यो दास्वते दम आ ॥
agníṃ devā́so mā́nuṣīṣu vikṣú priyaṃ dhuḥ kṣeṣyánto ná mítram | sá dīdayad uśatī́r ū́rmyā ā́ dakṣā́yyo yó dā́svate dámē ā́ ||
Các thần đã đặt Agni, đấng được yêu mến, giữa các thị tộc loài người, như người nuôi dưỡng một người bạn như Mitra. Ngài tỏa sáng với những làn sóng hoan hỷ khát khao; đấng cần được tăng trưởng bởi kỹ năng (dakṣa) ấy đến với người ban tặng trong ngôi nhà.
