sarveṣām eva tīrthānāṃ mathurā ca paraṃ mahat || kṛṣṇena krīḍitaṃ tatra tacchuddhaṃ hi pade pade ||

تمام تیرتھوں میں متھرا نہایت عظیم ہے۔ وہاں شری کرشن کی لیلا ہوئی؛ اسی لیے وہ جگہ قدم قدم پر پاک و مقدس مانی جاتی ہے۔
