Observance of the Auspicious Dvādaśī Vow and the Sacred Account of the Kubjākāmra Tīrtha
tasya vratānte viśvātmā svayaṁ pratyakṣatāṁ yayau | tuṣṭaś covāca bho rājan varo me vriyatāṁ varaḥ || 55.22 ||
Varāha (default speaker per primary dialogue framework; the manifesting 'viśvātmā' addresses the king)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative pattern in which successful completion of a vrata culminates in a direct epiphanic encounter and the granting of a boon, illustrating the literary linkage between ethical/ritual discipline and royal legitimacy.
No geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it is primarily a dialogue moment centered on the completion of a vow and the offering of a boon.
The verse foregrounds disciplined completion of a vowed observance (vrata) and presents the ideal of measured desire: the recipient is invited to choose a boon thoughtfully rather than impulsively.
