FAQs

It preserves a Purāṇic narrative motif where authority over the dead (Pretarāja) is framed through speech-acts (vācaḥ) such as curses, illustrating how moral-legal power is dramatized in classical Sanskrit storytelling.

No geographic toponym appears in this verse; the content is interpersonal and institutional (Yama/Pretarāja) rather than tied to a specific sacred site.

The verse foregrounds the consequences of anger-driven speech: a moment of krodha (anger) leads to a binding utterance (curse), highlighting restraint and accountability in speech as a philosophical-ethical theme.
