tṛptiṃ prayānti pitaro yāvat sthity agrajanmanaḥ || ye vasanti mahābhāge mathurām itare janāḥ ||
Varāha (default response to Pṛthivī’s question)
It illustrates how settlement/residence (vāsa) is framed as ritually and socially meaningful, linking community life with ancestral remembrance.
Mathurā is explicitly identified as the locus where residence is associated with benefits for the pitṛs.
It underscores intergenerational responsibility: the living are portrayed as sustaining ancestral well-being through culturally sanctioned conduct.
