Sukta 6.53
अदित्सन्तं चिदाघृणे पूषन्दानाय चोदय । पणेश्चिद्वि म्रदा मनः ॥
ádit santaṃ cid āghṛṇe pū́ṣan dā́nāya codaya | paṇéś cid ví mradā mánaḥ ||
Prayer for removal of obstruction to giving (dakṣiṇā and offering); socially, to obtain patronage; inwardly, to overcome the ‘Paṇi’ tendency to hoard energies
conversion of withholding into flow (dāna), transformation of intention (manas) by divine impulsion
Giving is alignment with ṛta: energies must circulate; hoarding disrupts order.
True wealth is what can be offered without fear; satya expresses as transparency and generosity.
Release of held powers (light/wealth) from the hoarder principle enabling growth and harmony.
Integral psychology: hostile/paṇi tendencies are inner resistances to be transformed, not merely condemned.
Warmth = compassion that melts rigidity; flow = prāṇa/energy circulation; hoarding = contraction in heart-mind.
Bring awareness to the ‘withholding knot’ in chest/solar plexus; invoke Pūṣan’s warm light to soften it; resolve to give (time, attention, help) without bargaining.
Anāhata (softening, generosity)
Coherent breathing (5s inhale/5s exhale) while repeating ‘vi mrada manaḥ’; feel warmth spreading on exhale.
From contraction to open-hearted flow; quiet joy in giving.
Notice inner Paṇi-voices (“What do I get?”). Do not fight—melt them with warmth and wideness; then make one concrete act of giving to seal the shift.
Three-tone Vedic accents; exact svara requires svara-marked saṃhitā. Keep a gentle rise on pūṣan and a soft cadence on vi mrada manaḥ.
Let ‘āghṛṇe’ be warm and sustained; give slight emphasis to dānāya and vi mrada.
aditsantam: keep short a; cluster -ts- clean (not ‘tisantam’)., āghṛṇe: long ā; vocalic ṛ; avoid turning ṛ into ‘ri’., paṇeḥ: retroflex ṇ; visarga ḥ light., mrada: roll ‘r’ lightly; keep d dental.
Soft, warm, persuasive; avoid harsh attack—this mantra works by gentleness.
