Sukta 10.140
ऋतावानं महिषं विश्वदर्शतमग्निं सुम्नाय दधिरे पुरो जनाः । श्रुत्कर्णं सप्रथस्तमं त्वा गिरा दैव्यं मानुषा युगा ॥
ṛtā́vānaṃ mahiṣáṃ viśvá-darśatam agníṃ sumnā́ya dadhire puró jánāḥ | śrút-karṇaṃ sapráthas-tamaṃ tvā girā́ daívyam mā́nuṣā yugā́ ||
ఋతావాన్, మహిష, విశ్వదర్శత—అటువంటి అగ్నిని జనులు సుమ్న (కల్యాణ-ఆనందం) కొరకు ముందుగా స్థాపించారు. ఓ శ్రుత్కర్ణా, ఓ సప్రథస్తమా, మనుష్యుల యుగాలు తమ వాణి (గిరా) ద్వారా నిన్ను—దైవ్యుడా—గానంచేశాయి; నీవు విస్తారంగా వ్యాపించినవాడవు, జాగ్రత్త చెవితో వినేవాడవు.
