Sukta 10.12
किं स्विन्नो राजा जगृहे कदस्याति व्रतं चकृमा को वि वेद । मित्रश्चिद्धि ष्मा जुहुराणो देवाञ्छ्लोको न यातामपि वाजो अस्ति ॥
kíṃ svin no rājā́ jagṛhe kád asyā́ti vratáṃ cakṛmā kó ví veda | mitráś cid dhí ṣmā juhurāṇó devā́ñ chlóko ná yātām ápi vājó ásti ||
మన నుండి రాజు నిజంగా ఏమి తీసుకున్నాడు? అతని వ్రతం (నియమం)లో మనం ఏది అతిక్రమించాము? దీన్ని నిజంగా ఎవరు తెలుసుకుంటారు? మిత్రుడుకూడా—యజ్ఞంలో ఆహుతులు సమర్పిస్తూ దేవులను పిలిచినా—వారి రాకకు శ్లోకంలా స్పష్టమైన మార్గాన్ని పొందడు; అయినా వాజ (బల-సమృద్ధి) ఉంది.
