Sukta 1.80
यद्वृत्रं तव चाशनिं वज्रेण समयोधयः । अहिमिन्द्र जिघांसतो दिवि ते बद्बधे शवोऽर्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम् ॥
yád vṛtráṃ táva ca āśánim vájreṇa sam-ayódhayaḥ | áhím indra jighā́ṃsato diví te badbadhe śávo ’rcann ánu sva-rā́jyam ||
వజ్రంతోను విద్యుత్-ప్రహారంతోను నీవు వృత్రునితో యుద్ధం చేసినప్పుడు, ఓ ఇంద్రా—(ప్రకాశాన్ని) హతమార్చదలచిన అహిని సంహరించుటకు—అప్పుడు దివిలో నీ శక్తి దృఢంగా బద్ధమైంది; నీ స్వరాజ్యాన్ని అనుసరించి స్తోత్రం పాడువారు ప్రకాశించారు.
