Sukta 1.32
अतिष्ठन्तीनामनिवेशनानां काष्ठानां मध्ये निहितं शरीरम् । वृत्रस्य निण्यं वि चरन्त्यापो दीर्घं तम आशयदिन्द्रशत्रुः ॥
átiṣṭhantīnām aniveśanā́nāṃ kā́ṣṭhānāṃ mádhye níhitaṃ śárīram | vṛtrásya niṇyáṃ ví caranty ā́po dī́rghaṃ táma ā́śayad índraśatruḥ ||
నిలిచిన స్థంభాలకు విశ్రాంతి-స్థానం లేనివాటిలో, కట్టెల మధ్యలో, ఆ శరీరం దాగి పడివుంది. వృత్రుని గుప్త నివాసంలో జలాలు నిర్బంధం లేకుండా సంచరిస్తున్నాయి; ఇంద్రశత్రువు దీర్ఘమైన చీకటిలో విస్తరించి పడి ఉన్నాడు—అవరోధశక్తి జడమైన రాత్రిగా మారింది.
