युवां गोतमः पुरुमीळ्हो अत्रिर्दस्रा हवतेऽवसे हविष्मान् । दिशं न दिष्टामृजूयेव यन्ता मे हवं नासत्योप यातम् ॥
yuvā́ṃ gótamaḥ purumīḷhó átrir dasrā́ haváte'váse havíṣmān | díśaṃ ná diṣṭā́m ṛjūyéva yántā mé hávaṃ nāsatyópa yātam ||
Concluding invitatory appeal: establishes lineage of invocation (Gotama, Atri) and requests immediate approach to the call in offering settings.
Rita as straightness (ṛju), avah (help) as divine grace responding to right call
Ṛju (straightness) is a human expression of ṛta; it opens the way for divine approach.
Nāsatyā respond to truth in the call; mixed motives impede descent.
Transmission of mantric power through lineage; continuity of awakening.
Integral-Vedic (truth-sincerity as a practical law of spiritual efficacy)
dawn (Aśvin context)
Direction-point = clear aim (saṅkalpa); straight path = sincerity; offering = consecrated life-energy.
Sincerity and precision: make the call straight, then feel the response.
Ājñā (clear direction) and Anāhata (inviting nearness)
Inhale 5 exhale 7 for 7 rounds; on exhale, feel ‘straightening’ of the inner axis.
Focused aspiration with quiet trust.
Chant once, then silently repeat: ‘One aim, one step.’ Let distractions be noticed and released; keep a single-pointed direction for 10 minutes.
Keep the line clean and forward; observe udātta marks; avoid dragging syllables that blur ‘straightness’.
Give clear emphasis to names (gotamaḥ, atriḥ) and to ṛjūyeva; make ‘upa yātam’ a distinct closing invitation.
gotamaḥ: final ḥ lightly aspirated before pause, purumīḻho: long ī; retroflex ḻ (Vedic) approximated carefully; if unsure, keep a clear ‘l’ without over-rolling, ṛjūyeva: vocalic ṛ; long ū, nāsatyā: long ā; palatal ‘ty’
Clear, direct, unornamented; like calling across distance.
