Sukta 1.173
समत्सु त्वा शूर सतामुराणं प्रपथिन्तमं परितंसयध्यै । सजोषस इन्द्रं मदे क्षोणीः सूरिं चिद्ये अनुमदन्ति वाजैः ॥
samátsu tvā śūra satā́m urāṇáṃ prapathíntamam paritaṃsayádhyai | sajóṣasa índraṃ máde kṣoṇī́ḥ sūríṃ cid yé anumádanti vā́jaiḥ ||
సమర ఘర్షణల్లో, ఓ శూరా, మేము నిన్నే కోరుతాము—సత్యవంతుల బలమైన ఆనందం, మార్గాల్లో అత్యంత ముందుకు సాగేవాడు, పూర్తిగా చుట్టుముట్టి స్వాధీనం చేసుకోదగినవాడు. మదంలో, ‘క్షోణీ’ (భూమి-బలాలు) సజోషంగా ఇంద్రునికి సమ్మతిస్తాయి; ‘వాజ’ (బల-సమృద్ధులు) తో, ‘సూరి’ (ప్రకాశిత నాయకులు) కూడా అతని వెంట ఆనందిస్తారు.
