నీవు స్వభావతః వినయశీలుడవు, గుణవంతుడవు; అయినను, కుమారా, స్నేహవశముగా నీ హితమును నేను చెప్పుదును।
Admittedly gentle by nature, you are gifted with virtues. O son, even though virtuous, I shall offer you counsel for your good out of affection for you.
Affection does not merely praise; it instructs. Even the virtuous should welcome corrective counsel as a safeguard for future responsibility.
Practice of receiving feedback without defensiveness; cultivate vinaya as a spiritual discipline.
Upadeśa given out of sneha resembles the guru's compassion: knowledge/discipline offered not because of deficiency alone but for perfection (pūrǺtā).
Taittirīya Śikƶ3āvallī: 'satyam vada, dharmam cara' style of affectionate injunctions to a worthy student.
Vālmīki RāmāyaǺ 2.3.43 (continuation of ethical injunctions); Mahābhārata Udyoga/Anuśāsana Parva (elders advising even exemplary princes)
Dharmaśāstra tradition of hita-vacana and vinaya as royal virtues

Solemn
Gentle mandra-to-madhya rise on 'putra' and 'hita' to convey affection
Even the virtuous should accept guidance with humility; affectionate counsel is part of sustaining dharma, especially for one preparing for responsibility.
Daśaratha, preparing Rāma for royal duties, begins a sequence of counsel—praising his nature yet still advising him for his welfare.
Rāma’s innate vinaya (courtesy/discipline) and the king’s parental, dharmic concern expressed through loving instruction.
