మన సహాయార్థం గాథలతో అగ్నిని స్తుతించండి—తీవ్రంగా ప్రకాశించే జ్వాల కలవాడిని. ఓ నరులారా! ధనార్థం, బహుదాతుడూ ప్రసిద్ధుడైన అగ్నిని (ఆహ్వానించండి); సుదీప్తి కోసం అగ్నిని (ఆహ్వానించండి), రక్షక ఆశ్రయరూప ‘ఛర్దిః’ (కవచ-ఆశ్రయం) ప్రసాదించువాడిని.

अग्न॒ आ या॑ह्य॒ग्निभि॒र्होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे । आ त्वाम॑नक्तु॒ प्रय॑ता ह॒विष्म॑ती॒ यजि॑ष्ठं ब॒र्हिरा॒सदे॑
ఓ అగ్నే! అగ్నులతో కలిసి ఇక్కడికి రా; హోతృగా నిన్నే మేము వరిస్తాము. విధిగా సిద్ధం చేసిన, హవిష్మతీ (ఆహుతి-ధారిణి) నిన్ను అభిషేకించుగాక—యజ్ఞానికి అత్యంత యోగ్యుడవై—నీవు బర్హి (పవిత్ర కుశ) పై ఆసీనుడవడానికి.
