य इ॒ह पि॒तरो॑ जी॒वा इ॒ह व॒यं स्मः॑ । अ॒स्मांस्तेऽनु॑ व॒यं तेषां॒ श्रेष्ठा॑ भूयास्म

yá ihá pitáro jīvā́ ihá vayáṃ smáḥ | asmā́ṃs té’nu vayáṃ téṣāṃ śréṣṭhā bhūyāsma

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Those Fathers who are living here, and we who are here—following after them, may we become the foremost of them.

Translation

ఇక్కడ జీవించి ఉన్న పితృలు, అలాగే ఇక్కడ ఉన్న మేము—వారిని అనుసరించి, వారిలో మేము అగ్రగణ్యులుగా (శ్రేష్ఠులుగా) కావాలి.
