प्रेव॑ पिपतिषति॒ मन॑सा॒ मुहु॒रा व॑र्तते॒ पुनः॑ । क्र॒व्याद् यान॒ग्निर॑न्ति॒काद॑नुवि॒द्वान् वि॒ताव॑ति

Sanskrit recitationAtharva Veda 12.2.52

préva pipatiṣati mánasā múhur ā́ vartate púnaḥ | kravyā́d yā́n agnír ántikād anuvidvā́n vitā́vati

As though he would dart forward, with his mind he flutters; again and again he turns back once more. The flesh-eaters whom Agni, from close at hand, tracking them out, drives asunder and scatters.

ముందుకు దూకబోతున్నట్టు—మనసుతో అతడు తడబడుతూ కంపిస్తాడు; మళ్లీ మళ్లీ తిరిగి వస్తాడు. క్రవ్యాద్ (మాంసభక్షకులు) యెవరిని అగ్ని సమీపం నుంచే అనువిద్వాన్ (తడమేసి కనుగొని) విడదీసి చెదరగొట్టి చల్లివేస్తాడో.
