मुहु॒र्गृध्यैः॒ प्र व॑द॒त्यार्तिं मर्त्यो॒ नीत्य॑ । क्र॒व्याद् यान॒ग्निर॑न्ति॒काद॑नुवि॒द्वान् वि॒ताव॑ति

Sanskrit recitationAtharva Veda 12.2.38

muhúr gṛ́dhyaiḥ prá vadaty ā́rtiṃ mártyo nī́tya | kravyā́d yā́n agnír ántikād anuví dvā́n vitā́vati

Again and again the mortal, led as it were away, cries forth his anguish amid the ravening ones; but Agni, tracking them from near at hand, driveth off those flesh-devourers.

మళ్లీ మళ్లీ, తీసుకుపోయబడుతున్నవాడిలా, ఈ మర్త్యుడు లోభి/హింసకుల మధ్య తన ఆర్తిని పలుకుతాడు; కానీ అగ్ని, దగ్గర నుంచే వారిని అనుసరించి గుర్తించి, ఆ క్రవ్యాద్ (మాంసభక్షకులు)ను తరిమివేస్తాడు.
