FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative device: linking social-ethical ideals (sadācāra) to lineage accounts and to the authority of a revered sage (Gautama), situating moral discipline within inherited tradition.

No explicit geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it focuses on lineage (anvaya) and ethical conduct rather than sacred geography.

The verse foregrounds sadācāra (good conduct) and sustained engagement with disciplined instruction (śāsana) as the distinguishing quality among those born into a lineage.
