Sukta 8.71
अग्निं सूनुं सहसो जातवेदसं दानाय वार्याणाम् । द्विता यो भूदमृतो मर्त्येष्वा होता मन्द्रतमो विशि ॥
agním sūnúṃ sáhaso jātávedasaṃ dānā́ya vā́ryāṇām | dvitā́ yó bhūd amṛ́to mártyeṣv ā́ hótā mandrátamo víśi ||
Agni, filho de Sahas (a Força), Jātavedas, (nós o invocamos) para a dádiva dos bens mais escolhidos: ele que, embora imortal, se fez presente entre os mortais como hotar, sacerdote da oferenda — o mais jubiloso no povo.
