Sukta 8.39
अग्निमस्तोष्यृग्मियमग्निमीळा यजध्यै । अग्निर्देवाँ अनक्तु न उभे हि विदथे कविरन्तश्चरति दूत्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
agním astoṣi ṛgmíyam agním īḷā́ yajádhyai | agnír devā́n anaktu na ubhé hí vidáthe kavír antáś cárati dūtyám nabhantām anyaké samé ||
Magnifiquei Agni, o vidente do hino; adoro Agni, digno de ser cultuado no sacrifício. Que Agni unja e estabeleça sobre nós os Deuses; pois, em ambas as assembleias, ele, o poeta, move-se por dentro como mensageiro — que as potências adversas sejam expulsas para outro domínio.
