Transliteration

upaspṛśyodakaṃ samyag munis sthitvā kṛtāñjaliḥ |

prācīnāgreṣu darbheṣu dharmeṇānvēṣate gatim ||

Translation

Depois de sorver devidamente a água de purificação, o muni sentou-se sobre a relva kuśa com as pontas voltadas para o oriente; com as mãos em añjali, buscou—pelo dharma nascido do tapas—o verdadeiro curso da antiga história de Rāma.
