Este breve hino a Agni é um contra‑encanto atharvânico compacto que devolve a intenção hostil ao seu remetente, valendo‑se do arciṣ (chama), do śocis (calor abrasador) e do tejas (esplendor) de Agni. Ó Agni, com esse teu haras — esse golpe ardente, teu calor — fere em retribuição aquele que nos odeia, aquele que nós mesmos odiamos.

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ऽर्चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रत्य॑र्च॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Ó Agni, com essa tua chama, incendeia de volta contra ele — contra aquele que nos odeia, aquele que odiamos.
