ਇਹ ਚਾਰ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਥਰਵਣਿਕ ਸੂਕਤ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਆਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ, ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਹਵਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਹ ਟੁੱਟੀ-ਬਿੱਖਰੀ ਸਮਗ੍ਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਬਿੰਬ “ਦਿਵ੍ਯ ਨੌਕਾ” ਹੈ—ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ, ਪਾਪ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸਾਅ-ਰਹਿਤ—ਜੋ ਖਤਰੇ, ਰੋਗ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਸੰਕਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਸਵਸ੍ਤਿ (ਕੁਸ਼ਲ-ਮੰਗਲ) ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ।

अदितिः अदि॑ति॒र्द्यौरदि॑तिर॒न्तरि॑क्ष॒मदि॑तिर्मा॒ता स पि॒ता स पु॒त्रः । विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अदि॑तिः॒ पञ्च॒ जना॒ अदि॑तिर्जा॒तमदि॑ति॒र्जनि॑त्वम्
ਅਦਿਤੀ ਆਕਾਸ਼ (ਸਵਰਗ) ਹੈ; ਅਦਿਤੀ ਅੰਤਰਿਕਸ਼ ਹੈ; ਅਦਿਤੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ—ਉਹੀ ਪਿਤਾ, ਉਹੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ। ਸਭ ਦੇਵ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਹਨ; ਪੰਜ ਜਨ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਹਨ; ਜੋ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਵੀ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਅਸੀਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਾਤਾ—ਸੁਵ੍ਰਤ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ—ਤ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ—ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਦੇ ਹਾਂ: ਤੂਵੀ-ਕ੍ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰਾ (ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਅਧਿਪਤ੍ਯ ਵਾਲੀ), ਅਜਰੰਤੀ (ਅਜਰ), ਉਰੂਚੀ (ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਚਮਕ ਵਾਲੀ), ਸੁਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਕਿਰਪਾਲੂ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ), ਸੁਪ੍ਰਣੀਤਿ (ਉੱਤਮ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਅਦਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ।

ਹੁਣ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਵ (ਪ੍ਰਸਵ) ਵੇਲੇ, ਮਹਾਂਮਾਤਾ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ—ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ—ਵਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਅੰਤਰਿਕਸ਼ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤ੍ਰਿਵਰੂਥ (ਤਿੰਨ-ਪਹਿਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸ਼ਰਮ—ਆਸਰਾ—ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ।
