FAQs

It preserves a standard Purāṇic cosmological motif—Varāha as the agent of Earth’s restoration—reflecting how early medieval Sanskrit literature framed environmental order and cosmic stability through mythic narrative.

No specific terrestrial pilgrimage site is named in this verse; the setting is the ‘great ocean’ (mahā-udadhi/mahodadhi), a cosmographic locale rather than a pinpointed historical geography.

The verse implicitly elevates the ideal of restoration and protection of the Earth (uddhṛta-kṣiti) as a cultural-philosophical value, presented through praise of the figure who re-establishes stability and order.
