विष्णुरुवाच । देवकार्यावतारेषु मानुषत्वमुपागतः । त्वामेवाराधयिष्यामि त्वं च मे वरदो भव ॥ ७३.४४ ॥
viṣṇur uvāca | devakāryāvatāreṣu mānuṣatvam upāgataḥ | tvām evārādhayiṣyāmi tvaṃ ca me varado bhava || 73.44 ||
Viṣṇu bersabda: “Dalam penjelmaan demi urusan para dewa, setelah Aku mengambil keadaan sebagai manusia, Aku akan memuja engkau sahaja; dan engkau pula, jadilah pemberi anugerah kepadaku.”
Viṣṇu
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative strategy: framing divine action (avatāra) as undertaken for restoring cosmic order and assisting the gods, while also presenting devotional reciprocity as a legitimizing motif within Sanskrit literary theology.
No explicit geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it functions primarily as a dialogic statement about incarnation and worship rather than sacred topography.
The verse foregrounds disciplined devotion (ārādhana) and reciprocal obligation: commitment to worship is paired with the expectation of benevolent responsiveness (varadatva) within the narrative’s moral economy.
