Mereka pun keluar; seorang daripada mereka mengangkat sebuah tempat duduk emas. Dia lalu mempersembahkannya kepadaku, sementara seorang lagi memberikan air yang ditadah pada lekuk tapak tangannya.
Varāha
Service rendered with reverence transforms material objects (gold seat, water) into instruments of dharma.
Receive guests with tangible respect—offer a clean seat and water first; let reverence precede conversation and consumption.
Hospitality protocol: offer an āsana (seat) and arghya/pādya-like water to honor the guest before further rites/food.
Honoring guests with seat and water brings merit, auspiciousness, and social harmony; withholding such basics is a fault that diminishes puṇya and invites inauspiciousness.
Varāha Purāṇa 69.69.6 (ātithya intention); Varāha Purāṇa 69.69.8 (maidens’ emergence enabling service)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative motif of hospitality: presenting a seat and offering water, which parallels broader South Asian etiquette and ritualized reception practices in classical Sanskrit literature.
No specific geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it focuses on an interpersonal act of reception and offering.
The verse foregrounds courteous reception of a guest/visitor through respectful offerings (a seat and water), emphasizing social ethics of hospitality rather than doctrinal command.
