Varāha (default, instructor-voice within Varāha–Pṛthivī dialogue framework)
It reflects a Purāṇic tendency to integrate practical conduct—especially dietary restraint—into broader ethical instruction, presenting food-regimen as a means to cultivate personal qualities such as clarity and vitality.
No geographic location is specified in this verse; it is framed as a general instruction about dietary practice and its results.
The verse recommends regulated diet—specifically a barley-based regimen—as a disciplined practice associated with intellectual clarity (jñāna) and well-being (kānti, puṣṭi), expressed as a normative guideline rather than a coercive command.
