The Account of Soma’s Decline and Restoration, and the Paurṇamāsī Observance

महातपा उवाच । ब्रह्मणो मानसः पुत्रः अत्रिर्नाम महातपाः । तस्य पुत्रोऽभवत्सोमो दक्षजामातृतां गतः ॥ ३५.१ ॥

mahātapā uvāca | brahmaṇo mānasaḥ putraḥ atrir nāma mahātapāḥ | tasya putro 'bhavat somo dakṣa-jāmātṛtāṃ gataḥ || 35.1 ||

Mahātapā berkata: “Atri, yang masyhur dengan tapa yang agung, ialah putera lahir dari minda (manasa-putra) Brahmā. Puteranya ialah Soma (Dewa Bulan), yang mencapai kedudukan sebagai menantu Dakṣa.”
