श्रीवराह उवाच । एवं सा गौरिनाम्ना तु कारणान्मूर्तिमागता । सम्बभूव यथा प्रोक्तं प्रजापालाय पृच्छते । ऋषिणा महता पूर्वं तपसा भावितात्मना ॥ २२.५१ ॥

śrīvarāha uvāca | evaṃ sā gaurināmnā tu kāraṇān mūrtim āgatā | sambabhūva yathā proktaṃ prajāpālāya pṛcchate | ṛṣiṇā mahatā pūrvaṃ tapasā bhāvitātmanā || 22.51 ||

Śrī Varāha bersabda: Demikianlah, dia—yang dikenali dengan nama Gaurī—telah mengambil rupa jasmani kerana suatu sebab-musabab, lalu terwujud tepat seperti yang telah dihuraikan sebelumnya, sebagai jawapan kepada pertanyaan Prajāpāla, yang dahulu pernah diajukan oleh seorang ṛṣi agung yang jiwanya dimurnikan oleh tapa.
