श्वानो वै सप्त जन्मानि गोमायुः सप्त वै तथा ॥ उलूकः सप्तवर्षाणि पश्चाज्जायेत मानुषः ॥
śvāno vai sapta janmāni gomāyuḥ sapta vai tathā || ulūkaḥ sapta-varṣāṇi paścāj jāyeta mānuṣaḥ ||
Sesungguhnya, dia menjadi anjing selama tujuh kelahiran; demikian juga menjadi gomāyu (jakal) selama tujuh kelahiran; kemudian menjadi ulūka (burung hantu) selama tujuh tahun; selepas itu barulah lahir sebagai manusia.
