The Genealogy of the Pitṛs and the Determination of Śrāddha Times

मुक्तश्चेतनको ब्रह्मन् ननु विप्रेषु दृश्यते । विशेषशास्त्रदृष्ट्या तु पुराणानां च दर्शनात् ॥ १३.३१ ॥

muktaś cetanako brahman nanu vipreṣu dṛśyate | viśeṣaśāstradṛṣṭyā tu purāṇānāṃ ca darśanāt || 13.31 ||

Wahai Brahmin, bukankah dalam kalangan vipra yang berilmu diperhatikan bahawa seorang yang bebas (mukta) tetap memiliki kesedaran (cetana)? Namun perbezaan ini hendaklah difahami menurut sudut pandang śāstra yang khusus, dan juga berdasarkan kesaksian yang terdapat dalam Purāṇa.
