Core idea

Dharma includes knowing exceptions and boundaries.

In practice

When performing saṃskāras/initiations, follow the text’s material prescriptions precisely; if uncertain, prioritize non-harmful, widely permitted substitutes.

With the Earth

Varāha gives Bhūmi a specific normative restriction within ritual procurement: bring all items except one—never provide/use blackbuck hide.

FAQs

It preserves a rule-based ritual economy of materials, relevant to the history of Dharma/ritual prescriptions and their local implementations.

No geographic site is named; the restriction is contextual (“tatra”—in that rite/setting).

It emphasizes restraint and rule-governed selection of ritual materials, indicating that not all culturally available items are ritually acceptable in this context.
