Wealth is purified when transformed into service-like giving (sevā-rūpa dāna) rather than display for ego.
Use valuable items (silver, silk) to honor dharma/guests/priests, while maintaining purity and appropriateness.
Sugarcane and silver encode sweetness (rasa/anna) and purity/brightness (śukla), turning the gift into a prosperity-mandala; sound (bells) and fanning (cāmara) mark royal/temple honor offered to dharma itself.
Bells parallel mantra/śabda that ‘animates’ ritual; cāmara evokes temple-sevā; silk covering parallels yajña-vastra that sanctifies offerings.
External splendor is subordinated to inner offering: ornamentation becomes a discipline of honoring the divine in the recipient and in the act of giving.
For the guḍadhenu, specify sugarcane legs, silver hooves, silk-thread trappings, silk covering, and adornments like bells and cāmara fans.
Lavish yet appropriate embellishment signifies reverence and increases puṇya; stinginess or inauspicious materials reduce the rite’s efficacy.
