Avadhuta Upanishad 8: Verse 8
कृत्स्नमेतच्चित्रं कर्म । स्वैरं न विगायेत् तन्महाव्रतम् । न स मूढवल्लिप्यते ॥८॥
कृत्स्नम् । एतत् । चित्रम् । कर्म । स्वैरम् । न । विगायेत् । तत् । महा-व्रतम् । न । सः । मूढ-वत् । लिप्यते ॥८॥
kṛtsnam etac citraṃ karma | svairaṃ na vigāyet tanmahāvratam | na sa mūḍhavad lipyate ||8||
Segala perbuatan ini hanyalah pertunjukan yang beraneka rupa. Janganlah sesuka hati melaungkannya atau memasyhurkannya; itulah mahāvrata, ikrar agung. Dia tidak tercemar seperti orang yang dungu.
All this action is a variegated display. One should not sing it out (i.e., not proclaim/celebrate it) at will; that is the great vow. He is not tainted like the deluded.
