Amritnada Upanishad 5: Verse 5

शब्दादिविषयाः पञ्च मनश्चैवातिचञ्चलम् ।

चिन्तयेदात्मनो रश्मीन्प्रत्याहारः स उच्यते ॥५॥

शब्द-आदि-विषयाः । पञ्च । मनः । च । एव । अति-चञ्चलम् ।

चिन्तयेत् । आत्मनः । रश्मीन् । प्रत्याहारः । सः । उच्यते ॥५॥

śabdādiviṣayāḥ pañca manaś caivāticañcalam |

cintayed ātmano raśmīn pratyāhāraḥ sa ucyate ||5||

Lima objek deria bermula dengan bunyi, dan juga minda yang amat gelisah—hendaklah direnungkan “sinar-sinar” Diri (arus yang mengalir keluar); itulah yang dinamakan pratyāhāra.

The five objects beginning with sound, and the mind indeed exceedingly restless—one should contemplate the rays (i.e., the outgoing currents) of the Self; that is called pratyāhāra.
