Sukta 9.8
Soma as Indra’s beloved drink in Soma-yajña; recitation accompanying offering intended to strengthen Indra
Kāma as intentional will, Vīrya as power for overcoming obstruction
The streams flow ‘toward the dear’—right directionality in consciousness is ṛta in action.
Indra’s aim is truth-illumination; Soma supports truthful victory, not egoic triumph.
Increase (vardhana) as evolutionary ascent: delight feeding the growth of higher power.
Integral yoga psychology: Ananda as energy-source for illumination and transformation.
Stream-flow = movement of subtle joy through nāḍīs; pressing = inner discernment extracting essence from experience.
Offer inner sweetness to the illumined mind; let aspiration become glad and strong rather than tense.
Maṇipūra (vīrya/force) rising to Ājñā (Indra illumination).
Kapalabhāti (mild) or energizing breath for 30–60 seconds, then chant; feel ‘akṣaran’ as upward flow.
Dynamic clarity; joyful will.
Chant 12 times; after chanting, take one clear decision aligned with truth; act immediately with calm force.
Rigvedic three-tone; keep ete somāḥ as a clear opening call.
Sustain the cadence through indrasya kāmam; emphasize vardhantaḥ asya vīryam as the culminating force.
ete: long ē; crisp t, priyam: palatal y glide; short a nasalization minimal, akṣaran: kṣ cluster clean, no extra vowel, vīryam: long ī; clear ry cluster
Bright, confident, slightly rising energy; end with firm resonance on vīryam.
